Personal Bible Study Methods

In the today's sermon entitled "txt msg" from Luke 24:44-53, I referenced a resource by Rick Warren entitled Personal Bible Study Methods.  It's a great tool to help "understand" the Bible.  Jesus was teaching his disciples to help them "understand" his word.  If you are interested in getting this book, just click the hyperlink above or use whatever book store you choose.  In the meantime, here is the section on "The Devotional Method" of understanding the Bible:

1.  Pray for insight on how to apply the passage.

2.  Meditate on the verse(s) you have chosen to study.

3.  Write out an Application.

4.  Memorize a key verse.

These steps will enhance your ability to know and live God's word in your life.  Pastor Rick's book has a lot more to offer, but this is one I found very helpful. Grace and peace, Pastor Bob

Texting

Kind of humorous sidline to Pastor Bob's message. We were at Outback Steakhouse and I turned over the coaster under my Iced Tea glass, honest just tea.

It read:
TXTG MKS 4 BD SPLRS.

Texting makes for bad spellers.
