1 Peter 4:1-6

Our conversion experience from a life separated from God to a life that is transformed by God through Christ yields an outward change of behavior. I believe that the Christian baptism is symbolic of this life transformation. And this Christian baptism is a witness to the desire to live for Christ in attitude and action. We are to have the “same attitude” as Christ. So what is that attitude? I see the following: to suffer for doing good; to be done with sin; to live solely for the purpose of doing the will of God; do not live as the pagans live; live as one ready to meet God at the day of judgment. The chief aim is that those who are dead (spiritually) might live according to the Spirit. All of this comes at a cost, for the believer will experience pain and abuse, “…and they will heap abuse on you” (4:4). So our transformed life lived through baptism as a witness comes at a price. Grace is not cheap.  In the grace and peace of Christ, Pastor Bob Lee
