Romans 8:26-27

When we become a believer in Christ, we are immediately born again and filled with the Holy Spirit of God. We are baptized into the life, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  This complete baptism is in the Holy Spirit. But even though a person is an heir of the promises of God and filled with the power of the Spirit, he or she is still limited in what can be known. Therefore, in our weaknesses or in our failings, in our sufferings, and in our groanings, we need help. Sometimes we don’t know how to pray and at other times, we don’t know what to pray for. So the Spirit of God who is one with God knows the heart of God and prays for us. God steps in with words we cannot express. Just as God gave Jesus as suffering servant, God gave us the Holy Spirit as our friend who intercedes for our behalf.

Grace and peace, Pastor Bob
