Worship in Spirit and in Truth

I believe that one of the most common misconceptions about worship is that it is a "style" of music or that it is about singing or preaching.  But these are just elements of worship.  Worship is really a lifestyle of living like Jesus.  Jesus said that we are to love God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30) and this encompasses all of our existence.

Here's a thought from my morning devotional on worship: "True worship comes from the depths of your spirit and is based on the truth of God's Word.  To understand worship, think: worth-ship!  How much do you value the Lord?  We never get tired of talking about what we value most!"

Will you take a moment right where you are and tell God you love him?  Think of one thing for which you are thankful and tell God.  And think of one person who needs prayer.  You have just worshiped!

Jesus said, "True worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth" (John 4:23).

Blessings, Pastor Bob
