I just started a new book entitled Chasing Daylight by Erwin McManus, pastor of Mosaic in Los Angeles. I have really enjoyed it so far. On page 9 he states, "However mundane a moment may appear, the miraculous may wait to be unwrapped within it. You rarely know up front the eternal significance of a moment...What you do with this moment affects every moment to come."
Here's a quote from this morning's reading: "You cannot follow God in neutral" (p. 36). What are the divine moments before you today? Where do you need to take some initiative? Will you choose to trust God as you make decisions in your work, home, family, or school?
I pray that you will trust God even with the small decisions you face today. Blessings, Pastor Bob
Chasing Daylight
Good book. Challenging and hopeful. Full of insightful statements about living in life. I think his first write of this book was titled Siezing Your Divine Moments. I am glad you are reading the book. I actually think you are living the book.

Your right, I listen to local AM 580 while on the road and three Pastors this week were talking about the Prodigal Son. All three delivered practically the same message. Theyt were R.C. Sproul, Charles Stanley, and Adrian Rogers. That is the return of the Prodigal Son is representative of the Joy, Happiness, and Laughter God feels and celebrates when one of us find our way back to him. It doesn't matter what condition we are in or how we managed to come back it is, as they said it not me, party time in Heaven.
Sadly, the jealous son that stayed home and obeyed The Law, is compared to the Pharasee side of our nature as Christians.
Never looked at the story quite that way but what a wonderful lesson.
Thanks Woody!
I appreciate your insightful comments. I love the image of the lost son taking the initiative to go back. The father in Luke 15 is a wonderful image of our Heavenly Father who is waiting for us as we take the initiative to go to him. And when we come home, the angels throw a party in heaven! The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you always, Pastor Bob
