Dealing With Stress

Here's a nugget from my devotional reading this morning.  The verse is Matthew 6:34 from The Message -- "Don't get worked up."  The photo is of the Smokey Mountains submitted by Steven D. from our church.

When Overwhelmed, Remember:

1.  God's still looking out for you.  Remember that God's bigger than your problem!

2.  Don't think about quitting.  There are times when God wants us to make a change.  However, many times it's a test when we reach a breaking point.  And we can either choose to quit or persevere to victory.  (See 2 Timothy 4:7.)

3.  If it doesn't have your name on it, don't pick it up.  Stress can come from micromanaging others and assuming responsibilities that aren't yours.

4.  Your breaking point can be the start of a breakthrough.

Be encouraged today in the name of Jesus.  Pastor Bob
