"The Indwelling of the Holy Spirit"

Just finished reading Frances Chan's book, Forgotten God.  Awesome read!  Here's something that spoke to me:

"I may wake up on a particular day feeling physically tired or stressed or impatient, and humanely speaking, those two things would probably define my day.  but the reality is that I am indwelt by the Holy Spirit.  And because of this reality, stress and tiredness and impatience don't have to define my day."  Forgotten God -- p. 110

Luke 24:44-53

These verses describe one of the resurrection appearances of Jesus to his disciples. It was the final appearance before he was taken up to heaven in what we know as the ascension. During the discourse, Jesus helped his disciples understand the scriptures. He did the same with the two disciples he encountered on the road to Emmaus. Jesus also charged them with being witnesses of all that he had spoken. They would receive the promise of the Holy Spirit but would have to wait on the Lord in Jerusalem for further instructions. Let us pay attention to the sacramenta  Click to read more »
