In the Experiencing God Day by Day devotional, the May 21, 2008 entry helps us to understand that we don't have to try and impress anyone with our Christianity. How often do we get caught up in a works oriented attitude where we allow pride to be our motivating factor? This text in Acts 4:13 reveals that the disciples who we
"Put these things into practice, devote yourself to them, so that all may see your progress" (1 Tim 4:15, NRSV).
This morning I read of God's command to Moses to appoint and commission Joshua as Moses' successor. Verse 18 stood out where God says of Joshua, "A man in whom is the spirit" which we understand as the Holy Spirit of God.
A prayer for believers is that we hope that the presence of the Spirit is sensed by those around us. Lord, help me be a person in whom is the Spirit.
