Pastor Bob graduated from the Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond in 1998 and has served as pastor at New Highland since July 1998. This year is his tenth year in the pastorate here at NHBC. He and his wife Melanie have one daughter. Bob started work on his Doctor of Ministry at Union Theological Seminary and Presbyterian School of Christian Education in 2007. Bob enjoys spending time with his family, running, NASCAR, working in the yard, and reading.

Before entering seminary, Pastor Bob was employed as a Senior Claims Adjuster with a large Property and Casualty Insurer. He worked in this field for six years after graduating from Wintrop College in 1989 ( www.winthrop.edu ). He received a call to ministry while a member of First Baptist Church in Orangeburg, SC. He and Melanie left their jobs, sold their home, and moved to Richmond to start seminary at BTSR ( www.btsr.edu ). Melanie is in the Marketing Industry and in employed with an agenry in Richmond.
